1. deepin 25.1.1 Release: Comprehensive Optimization and Security Hardening

In June, deepin officially released version 25.1.1, delivering comprehensive upgrades in system security, hardware compatibility, desktop experience, and AI capabilities, including multiple feature improvements and CVE vulnerability fixes.

  • Security Fixes: Fixed high-risk vulnerabilities including curl cookie leak and OpenSSH; simultaneously patched security issues in core components such as systemd, xorg-server, mesa, glibc, rsync, and nginx, enhancing overall security and reliability in network communication, image processing, display services, and other scenarios.

  • Kernel & Hardware Compatibility: Updated 6.18/6.6 kernel components, added Qualcomm QCM6490 platform firmware, updated fingerprint components and NVIDIA GBM, improving graphics display and device compatibility.

  • DDE Desktop Environment: Optimized window manager and shortcut key stability, continued refinement of Treeland foundational capabilities; fixed pipewire Bluetooth device connection issues, optimized basic experience in Control Center, Launcher, clipboard, and more.

  • File Management & Search: Optimized file browsing, disk mounting, desktop file experience; improved file indexing and global search efficiency.

2. UOS AI Upgrade: Data Analysis Agent Launched, Default Model Upgraded to DeepSeek V4 Flash

In June, UOS AI received a major feature update, with AI data analysis capabilities achieving a qualitative leap:

  • Data Analysis Agent officially launched: After uploading an Excel file, the AI automatically analyzes data, identifies anomalies, and extracts insights; supports split, merge, filter, sort, and other operations; supports chart interpretation and generation; and enables one-click export of concise summaries, detailed reports, or complete documents with embedded charts.

  • Default model upgraded to DeepSeek V4 Flash: Significantly improved response speed and more efficient task processing.

  • Experience optimizations: Preset model list now automatically syncs the latest models (DeepSeek, MiniMax, Doubao, Kimi, GLM, Qwen, etc.); custom models support parameter passing; Launcher entry optimized for a smoother first-time experience.

3. deepin Home & Forum

In June, a total of 123 user bug reports and feature requests were received through channels such as deepin Home and the Forum, including:

  • Bug reports: 87 total; 12 resolved, 23 replied to, 37 pending.

  • Feature requests: 36 total; 3 included in version planning, 9 added to the requirements pool, 9 rejected.

deepin-kernel SIG

Kernel version updates

  • Updated minor versions 6.18.30–6.18.36 with a total of 2,164 patches, merged upstream NTFS driver support from version 7.2.

  • Updated minor versions 6.6.140–6.6.143 with a total of 1,132 patches.

Hardware support enhancements

  • Merged Realtek rtw89 WiFi 6/7 wireless network card driver (238 patches) into the 6.6 kernel branch; updated MediaTek mt76 wireless network card driver (214 patches).

  • Merged Xiongli network card driver into the 6.6 kernel branch.

  • Merged Loongson patches into the 6.6 kernel branch: improved amdgpu and rtl8723be driver compatibility, fixed USB wakeup issues, converted the ls500fb driver to the upstream ls2kbmc version; improved compatibility for ISA memory region access from LPT and other ports in some motherboard BIOS DSDT tables.

  • Merged Sunway patches into the 6.6 kernel branch: optimized IPI inter-core interrupt handling, reducing lock contention.

  • Merged Feiteng patches into the 6.6 kernel branch: fixed gpio, qspi, and i2s driver support.

  • Merged upstream CXL support enhancements (Global Persistent Flush – GPF) into the 6.18 kernel branch.

Performance optimizations

  • Merged memory subsystem folio compound page optimizations and slub thawing process optimizations into the 6.6 kernel, reducing lock contention.

  • Merged runtime constant support into the 6.6 kernel and optimized x86 user-kernel mode copy performance.

  • Fixed a scheduler entity lag value calculation error in the 6.6 kernel.

  • Fixed an issue in the 6.18 kernel branch where initrd could be overwritten during boot, causing boot failure.

deepin-sysdev-team

Upstream version updates: 43 repositories completed upstream synchronization in June.

  • Core components: xorg-server, grub2, systemd, glib2.0, etc.

  • Networking: firewalld, nginx, dpdk, libpcap, libssh, etc.

  • Printing drivers: hplip, hplip-plugin.

  • Hardware architecture: kicad 10.0, xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu.

  • Infrastructure: lintian, libxml2, lua-resty-core, ethtool, etc.

Other maintenance: 21 repositories received fixes or security backports.

  • Ongoing maintenance of fcitx5, wireplumber, network-manager, grub2, etc.

  • Multimedia and graphics stack maintenance: ffmpeg, gst-plugins series, xwayland, pipewire.

  • AI/ML library maintenance: llama.cpp, ggml, etc.

Qt6 ecosystem: Overall maintenance updates for qt6-base, qt6-declarative, qt6-wayland, and more.

Security fixes: CVE fixes for openssh, angular.js, libheif, nasm, vtk9, libvirt, util-linux, and other components.

DDE SIG

Treeland environment adaptation

  • Fixed an issue where Wine application icons might appear as gears under Treeland.

  • Fixed an issue where Treeland could cause the taskbar to crash in various scenarios.

  • Fixed incorrect positioning of the taskbar multi-tasking area menu in Treeland environments.

  • Fixed incorrect tooltip positioning in certain tray areas under Treeland.

  • Fixed incorrect window closing method via taskbar right-click in Treeland.

  • Fixed an issue where the Launcher would freeze for a few seconds on first startup under Treeland sessions and the application list might appear empty.

Desktop component optimizations

  • dde-shell style fine-tuning.

  • Notification area adapted to XdgActivation to provide window activation support.

  • Tray now supports long-press touch to simulate right-click.

  • Fixed an issue where bubble tooltips might start at incorrect positions on cold boot.

Control Center

  • Some components switched to layer-shell for correct screen indicator positioning under Wayland.

  • Adjusted theme color switching logic under Treeland.

  • Cross-screen拼接 logic migrated to dde-daemon.

  • Optimized username input box layout and focus border style in authentication module.

  • Added authentication request before modifying folder privacy permissions.

  • Fixed crash after restarting Treeland; set as singleton application.

  • Other defect fixes.

dde-port SIG

  • Improved DDE compatibility under Treeland.

  • Ongoing handling of portability issues.

deepin-ports SIG

Key device adaptation: Continued advancing RISC-V key device adaptation; image building and verification for platforms such as SpacemiT K3 are progressing steadily.

RVA23 repository construction: Continued verification of RVA23 repository compatibility; some work delayed pending dependency readiness.

deepin-ports maintenance: Regular maintenance of baseline repositories such as generic-revyos-71y.

RISC-V translation layer application adaptation: Continued adaptation of the translation layer to improve x86 application usability on RISC-V platforms.

deepin-translation SIG

  • Provided feedback and corrections for encountered translation errors.

  • Timely updates for translations in Spanish, Japanese, Italian, German, Arabic, Ukrainian, French, Indonesian, Russian, and other languages.

New SIG Added in June: FlagOS SIG

On June 11, the deepin community officially announced the establishment of the FlagOS SIG! Initiated by Shanghai Kuya Technology Co., Ltd., the SIG aims to combine deepin with FlagOS to build a unified open-source system software stack for diverse AI chips, promoting the openness and integration of intelligent computing infrastructure.

 

IV. Community Ecosystem

The App Store recently completed nearly 532 application review and testing cycles, successfully promoting the listing of 424 applications, of which 384 are brand-new applications. Multiple mainstream office software products underwent version iterations, including WeCom (Enterprise WeChat), Aliyun Drive, WeChat, Feishu, QQ, Lanxin, WPS Linux Personal Edition, Youdao Cloud Note, and more.

Popular Linglong applications also received updates and iterations, including Blender, Chatbox AI, Dbeaver Community Edition, Chromium browser, Brave browser, and other utility software.
