deepin Community April 2026 User Issue and Feature Request Feedback Progress Synchronization

deepin, an open‑source operating system that performs remarkably in the DistroWatch global ranking and is widely recognised by users worldwide, values the voice of every user. With the launch of deepin 25.1 in April, community feedback has been enthusiastic. This summary integrates user issues and feature requests collected from multiple channels, including the deepin Forum. Adhering to the principle of transparent co‑construction, we are normalising the regular synchronisation of progress. We now release the monthly community feedback summary for April 2026. Everyone is welcome to actively share suggestions on the deepin Forum and participate in product iteration together.

I. Issue Handling Progress – April

This month, a total of 26 issue reports were received, mainly involving the System, DDE, Input Method, Screenshot & Screen Recording modules. The handling status is as follows:

✅ Resolved (17 items)

• DDE: Fixed square corners in WeChat right‑click menu; fixed first right‑click position anomaly for taskbar tray icons; fixed temporary hang of taskbar app buttons after taking a screenshot; fixed no reaction when clicking the disk space low reminder in Control Center.

• System: Fixed shutdown prompt; fixed slow sudo command response; fixed vim automatically entering "pp" when editing an empty file; fixed multiple upgrade failure cases when upgrading from older versions to 25.1.

• Input Method: Fixed input method switching lag and occasional unresponsiveness; fixed French keyboard and Control Center translation issues for overseas users; fixed Sogou input method being unable to switch to Chinese.

• Screenshot & Screen Recording: Fixed the issue where a screenshot was taken immediately after clicking in Control Center before the animation finished; optimised file naming order and path order when saving screenshots.

• Package Installer: Fixed dpkg hang when double‑clicking to install.

• Graphics Card: For performance stuttering on new AMD 9‑series and Intel B580 graphics cards, as well as failure to boot into the desktop after upgrading to the 6.18 kernel, users were guided via official tutorials to upgrade the mesa driver, which resolves these issues.

Note: Some of the fixes mentioned above will be gradually pushed during the course of this month. Please stay tuned.

🔧 In Progress (4 items)

• DDE: trayplugin-loader tray process memory leak (under development).

• System: No sound with the new 6.18 kernel after upgrading to 25.1 (temporary workaround is to fall back to the old kernel; under development); keyring repeatedly asks for the old password at login (under development).

🔍 Under Test/Reproduce (3 items)

• System: Touchpad scrolling failure.

• DDE: Taskbar still shows dark colour when using a light theme; the secondary tray menu style appears abnormal the first time it is opened.

II. Feature Request Handling Progress – April

This month, a total of 30 feature requests were collected, mainly involving DDE, the System, UOS AI, Screenshot & Screen Recording, File Manager and other modules. The handling status is as follows:

• Document Viewer / Print Manager: Added a "Print" option in the file right‑click menu (the file manager already provides right‑click menu extension capability; WPS etc. already support it).

📅 Included in version plan (4 items)

• DDE: Refined taskbar icons for WeChat and other applications (referencing the effect in Galaxy Kylin V10).

• Input Method: Include fcitx5-avro in the official repository to support Bengali Avro phonetic input.

• UOS AI: AI‑generated commands can be directly run in the terminal (planned for version 3.0); interface tab redesign, separating Knowledge Base, Conversation, and MCP into larger, distinct sections.

📦 Added to requirements pool (16 items)

• DDE: Optimise screen‑casting scaling for meeting room projectors (improve experience when connecting/disconnecting monitors); optimise the intelligent mirror source selection algorithm for system updates; increase visual distinction between the "show/hide icons" button on the taskbar; add a hover feedback effect for desktop icons; make the launcher window always‑on‑top so it is not obscured by other windows.

• System: Turkish language support; integrate the steam-devices package to support Steam Controllers; video player should support controlling on the main screen while playing full‑screen on a secondary screen (split‑screen).

• System Monitor: Change the network traffic unit from bits to bytes.

• Screenshot & Screen Recording: Support taking screenshots with a preset fixed size or fixed ratio.

• File Manager: Automatically trim trailing spaces when manually entering text in the address bar.

• Email: Optimise email verification code reception for China Mobile 139.com.

• Cinema/Music: Support custom seek step sizes for fast‑forward/rewind.

• Deepin Home: Add a progress bar for screenshot uploads; use AI to help users format feedback content.

• Wallpaper: Add display mode settings such as Fill, Fit, and Stretch.

❌ Rejected (4 items)

• System: Pre‑install WPS (LibreOffice remains the default; users can install WPS themselves).

• Browser: Support Amazon Music playback (consistent with upstream Chromium behaviour; no extra functionality will be added).

• DDE: On‑screen clock watermark (not planned for now); taskbar icons show no text after being split (this is the current design, not a defect).
